Reset the Bench. Vote Johnson for Judge.

Hi! I'm Heather

Guided by Principles. Grounded in People.
Every decision made in family court changes lives—and that responsibility demands more than legal knowledge. It requires heart, humility, and consistency. My approach is rooted in empathy, ensuring every person feels seen and heard. I believe in clarity, so families understand every ruling. With over 12 years of hands-on experience, I’ve guided parents, children, and caregivers through life’s most difficult moments. As your judge, I’ll bring a steady temperament, efficient case management, and above all, a deep respect for every individual who enters the courtroom. Because justice should not only be fair—it should be human.

Prepared by Experience. Ready to Serve.

My career has been dedicated entirely to family law—because helping families through difficult, high-stakes moments is not just what I do, it’s who I am. I’ve built my practice on empathy, integrity, and tireless advocacy. From complex custody disputes to child welfare cases, I’ve stood in courtrooms across Dallas County fighting for what’s right. Here’s what that experience looks like:

  • Over 12 years of exclusive experience in family law, representing clients in Dallas County and surrounding jurisdictions with empathy, integrity, and tenacity.

  • Successfully resolved more than 300 family law matters, including contested trials, complex custody disputes, and high-conflict divorces.

  • Skilled in navigating sensitive and high-stakes issues involving family violence, child abuse, neglect, and conservatorship.

  • Respected for commanding courtroom presence, marked by meticulous preparation, strategic advocacy, and client-centered representation.

  • Frequently appointed by the courts as Amicus Attorney and Attorney Ad Litem in high-conflict and child welfare cases.

  • Trusted advocate for indigent clients through court appointments in enforcement and Child Protective Services (CPS) matters.

The Principles That Will Guide My Bench

EMPATHY

Every family deserves to be seen, heard, and treated as more than just a case number. I’ve spent my career listening first—because understanding is where justice begins.

CLARITY

Legal decisions can feel overwhelming. I believe in using plain language to explain rulings clearly, so every family leaves court knowing what happened and why.

EFFICIENCY

Delays hurt families. I’m committed to moving cases forward with urgency and care which respects people’s time and reduces the emotional toll of waiting for closure.

TEMPERMENT

This role demands more than intellect—it requires wisdom, patience, and self-control. I lead with compassion and respect, no matter how tense the room may be.

DIGNITY

Every person who steps into my courtroom—regardless of background, representation, or circumstance—will be treated with dignity and respect. That’s not optional. It’s foundational.

Top Priorities When Elected

1

Implement Clear Written Rulings

I will ensure that every ruling is documented in plain, understandable language. Families should never leave the courtroom uncertain about what was decided or why.

2

Establish Standing Orders for Pro Se Litigants

I will develop user-friendly standing orders and guides specifically for self-represented parties—so they understand what to expect and how to prepare, without needing legal training.

3

Hold Regular Court Orientation Sessions

In collaboration with bar associations and nonprofits, I will launch quarterly “Family Court 101” orientation sessions.
